Services
Preliminary designs and concept designs can be provided for both commercial vessels and pleasure yachts. Dykstra & Partners Naval Architects holds a large database with proven designs that can be a base or a trailhorse for a new design. Conceptual work includes Main particulars, ratio studies, weight budget calculations and specifications. Dykstra & Partners have a good insight in classifictation requirements that can be incorporated in a preliminary design.
INTERIOR
General arrangements and space allocation for interiors are made for all vessels. Styling and detailing can be done 100% in-house for traditional and classic yachts. A substantial data base on classic styling is maintained. Modern interiors are subcontracted to - or made in joint venture with fashionable specialists and styling consultants.
SAIL PLANS, DECK PLANS AND SAIL HANDLING SYSTEMS
These disciplines have always been of special interest to the company due to the extensive cruising and racing experience of the senior staff. Much innovative work has been completed in this discipline, both in concept design and detailed fitting design. Sail plans are analyzed with in-house developed software.
In support of yards lines plans and computer lofting and fairing can be provided. Software used for these services is AUTOSHIP and FASTSHIP, state of the art surface design programmes. Output can be any format CAD file; suitable for any drawings, for 3-D rendering, for full scale plots or for processing by manufacturers of hull plating packages. Developable surfaces and related hull plate plots can be provided. A long standing experience with developable hull shapes for pleasure and commercial craft has been built up.
IMS measured hulls can be plotted, hull files can be converted for IMS VPP calculations.
SPARS, RIGS AND STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS
Loadings on the rig are defined with in-house developed software. First order calculations are made with frame work and spreadsheet software. Final FEM analysis is provided by specialists (subcontracted) working under our supervision. Spar calculations have always been part of the activities and hence are based on long standing experience, not only with calculation methods but also gained from first hand practical experience.
