Hiswa Excellence Award 2008 for Gerard Dijkstra
On November 6th, the Hiswa Excellence Award 2008 was handed to Gerard Dijkstra, founder and co-owner of Dykstra & Partners Naval Architects.
According to the Jury, Gerard Dijkstra played an important role in the revival of the J-Class. He is a true self-made man with a lot of creativity and passion for his profession. Innovative designs, with keeping the environment in mind and his perseverance are a couple of the remarks made by the Jury which made Gerard win the Award.
Other nominees in the Hiswa Excellence Award 2008 category where:
Lex Keuning, Senior Lecturer Marine and Transport Technology and Ship Hydrodynamics and Structures at the TU Delft. Results from his research are also used a lot in the Dykstra & Partners designs and other yacht designs Internationally.
Henk de Vries, CEO at Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw where they build ocean going custom build super yachts for International clients. He is a man of vision and entrepreneurship.
